Software Design Engineer 4Job Summary: Talent Software Services is in search of a Software Design Engineer for a contract position in Redmond, WA. The opportunity will be two months with a strong chance for a long-term extension.
Position Summary:
The purpose of this team is to reduce toil for cross-functional teams by building process automation with AI. This role will contribute to developing different process tools aimed at enhancing efficiency and productivity. The main function of a Software Engineer in this position is to design, develop, implement, test, and maintain business and computer applications software or specialized utility programs. This includes mainframe and client/server applications and major enhancements of existing systems.Primary Duties & Responsibilities:
- Fine-tune and improve a variety of sophisticated software implementation projects.
- Gather and analyze system requirements, document specifications, and develop software solutions to meet client needs and data.
- Analyze and review enhancement requests and specifications.
- Implement system software and customize it to client requirements.
- Prepare detailed software specifications and test plans.
- Code new programs to client specifications and create test data for testing.
- Modify existing programs to new standards and conduct unit testing of developed programs.
- Create migration packages for system testing, user testing, and implementation.
- Provide quality assurance reviews.
- Perform post-implementation validation of software and resolve any bugs found during testing.
Qualifications:
- A bachelor's degree in a technical field, such as computer science, computer engineering, or a related field, is required.
- 8-10 years of experience required.
- A solid foundation in computer science, with strong competencies in data structures, algorithms, and software design.
- Experience in large systems software design and development.
- Experience performing in-depth troubleshooting and unit testing with both new and legacy production systems.
- Experience in programming and experience with problem diagnosis and resolution
- Experience with M365 and GitHub actions is helpful particularly in writing and integrating processes. Candidates with internal tooling and consulting experience are ideal.
- Development and coding experience, particularly with TypeScript.
- Experience with actions and writing actions for continuous automation, such as automating intake and triage, with Python coding experience.
- Process Automation, Go, and Bash scripting.
