Secret Cleared Optical Network Solutions Associate

Our client, a telecommunications company, is in need of a Secret Cleared, Network Solutions Associate for a full-time opportunity working on site in Lompoc, CA. This individual will be responsible for following test plans for customer network architecture, interoperability, ensuring the functionality and security of equipment, and configuring that equipment. They will also be following implementation plans provided by Ciena sales engineers and providing engineering support in the deployment of customer network enhancements to include Layer-0, Layer-1 and Layer-2 process and configurations. They should be comfortable following network and signal flow diagrams as well as cabling guides to install a variety of Ciena products.

Required Skills:

• Secret level clearance
  
• 3-5 years of experience working in optical networking
  
• Ability to go onsite daily in Lompoc, CA
  
• Strong knowledge and experience with Layer-0, Layer-1, Layer-2
  
• Ability to follow network diagrams, cabling guides and signal flow diagrams to manipulate and install a variety of Ciena products from SFP/XFP's and occasionally shelves.
  
• Ability to manipulate fiber optic patches (Clean, Run, Replace, traceout/redlight patches)
  
• Experience with Ciena products is preferred, but Juniper or Cisco experience in the optical space would be a substitute
  
• Strong understanding of SONET, DWDM, ROADM (and other OADM configurations) architecture and provisioning and implementation
  
• Comfortable with up to 25% travel

Preferred or Nice to Have Skills:

• Experience with OTN, troubleshooting, technical writing, test plans, EMOPs
  
• Alt. Vendor experience a Plus - (Nokia/ALU, Infinera, Cisco ( Legacy15454), etc.
