Job Summary The Lead II Software Testing role is responsible for planning, executing, and managing the end-to-end testing process for wireless products and related accessories. The role involves test planning, execution, defect management, quality assurance, and collaboration with cross-functional teams to ensure the successful delivery of high-quality mobile software and hardware solutions. The individual will oversee regression, functional, and certification testing, troubleshoot issues, and ensure adherence to testing best practices, standards, and methodologies. Key Responsibilities Develop, document, and revise test plans, procedures, and quality standards for software and hardware with a focus on wireless products. Manage cross-functional bug reporting and resolution processes, including performing software upgrades using OEM tools. Oversee test sample requirements and inventory, ensuring devices are upgraded to the latest firmware and tracked properly. Validate OEM and test partners results by executing regression test plans and performing ad-hoc testing. Test and certify maintenance releases (MRs), security updates, and software patches. Compile test result data, logs, and engineering reports for OEMs and internal stakeholders. Update issue tracking and management tools to ensure current and accurate information. Perform troubleshooting, field testing (if required), and log monitoring. Monitor customer-reported issues, perform root cause analysis, and propose solutions to improve satisfaction. Deploy new test tools and methodologies as needed. Collaborate with internal development, E2E teams, and stakeholders to align on testing strategy. Ensure adherence to test practices, processes, and quality standards to improve coverage and defect detection. Produce defect reports, test logs, RCA reports, and preventive measures. Track and report project metrics, including defect leakage, test execution coverage, and on-time delivery. Identify risks/issues and prepare mitigation and contingency plans. Support knowledge management by consuming, contributing, and reviewing best practices and lessons learned. Represent the testing team in governance calls with stakeholders and management. Required Qualifications Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Electronics & Telecommunications, Engineering, or related field. 5+ years of experience in product development and/or technology management roles, including at least 3+ years in the mobile or wireless domain. Strong understanding of LTE and 5G RF and Core technologies. Experience with smartphones, Android OS, and mobile wireless telecommunications (GSM/WCDMA/LTE/Wi-Fi). Hands-on experience with automation tools such as Spirent or Eggplant. Knowledge of logging and debugging tools (QXDM, QCAT). Proficiency in JIRA, Confluence, and issue management tools. Strong analytical, problem-solving, organizational, and documentation skills. Effective verbal and written communication skills for technical and non-technical stakeholders. Ability to work independently as a self-starter with minimal supervision. Project management and leadership experience with proven delivery of high-quality results. Preferred Qualifications Experience certifying mobile products for MNOs or MVNOs. Working knowledge of Android platforms across multiple OEMs. Familiarity with SIM and eSIM technologies. Experience with performance and stress testing methodologies. Experience in root cause analysis and implementing defect prevention strategies. Prior experience with continuous testing in DevOps environments. Education: Bachelors Degree
