As a Senior Cloud FinOps Analyst, you'll be the primary driver of financial accountability and governance across a multi-cloud environment, predominantly spanning AWS and Azure, with exposure to Google Cloud Platform. This crucial role ensures maximum cloud investment value by leading initiatives such as cost show-back/chargeback, identifying significant cost optimization and rightsizing opportunities, and enforcing essential governance policies like infrastructure requests and tagging standards. You'll translate complex cloud billing data into actionable strategic insights, collaborating with various engineering and business teams to cultivate a data-driven culture of cloud cost management and efficiency.

responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement comprehensive FinOps strategies to optimize multi-cloud spending (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud Platform), continuously monitoring usage patterns to identify and realize savings.
  • Manage and refine cloud financial reporting, including operating and improving cost allocation, show-back, and chargeback systems, and assisting with forecasting models.
  • Design, improve, and enforce cloud governance policies and best practices, focusing on processes like infrastructure requests and resource tagging standards.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with technical and business stakeholders to identify and execute on cost-saving opportunities and asset management strategies.
  • Provide expert guidance and consultation on cloud cost optimization and governance to stakeholders at all organizational levels.
  • Organize, document, and translate technical requirements into technical design specifications, particularly for incoming infrastructure requests.
  • Stay current with the latest cloud technologies, FinOps practices (e.g., FinOps Framework), cloud pricing models, and industry best practices.
  • Utilize experience with cloud management and FinOps tools (preferably Apptio and CloudAbility) to drive insights and automation.
  • Successfully manage multiple concurrent projects, ensuring successful implementation of FinOps and governance initiatives across multiple internal customers.



qualifications:

7+ years of experience in a large enterprise or multi-cloud environment, with a proven track record of implementing successful FinOps and governance initiatives.


Strong working knowledge of AWS & Azure Cloud resources, services, and their respective pricing models and cost management strategies.


Proficiency in analyzing complex cloud billing data (CUR/CDR) and creating actionable financial and utilization insights.


Deep understanding of cloud financial management principles and the FinOps Framework.


Successful experience with cloud management and FinOps tools (e.g., Apptio, CloudAbility, CloudCheckr, etc.).


Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills, with an ability to manage multiple concurrent projects.


Demonstrated experience in documenting technical requirements and creating technical design specifications.


FinOps Certified Practitioner is preferred but not strictly required.
