Job description:

The Documentation Specialist is responsible for preparing comprehensive documentation to support systems, applications, and training initiatives. This role ensures that end-users, administrators, and support staff have access to clear, accurate, and user-friendly documentation throughout the project lifecycle. Key responsibilities include:

  • Developing system documentation, including architecture overviews and technical references.
  • Creating application documentation, such as configuration guides and troubleshooting manuals.
  • Preparing training documentation, including user guides, quick reference materials, and onboarding content.
  • Developing administration manuals for system administrators.
  • Writing post-deployment support plans to guide ongoing operations and maintenance.
  • Collaborating with developers, engineers, and project managers to gather technical details.
  • Ensuring all documentation meets compliance, security, and accessibility standards.

Required Certifications & Qualifications:

  • Microsoft 365 Fundamentals (MS-900) certification (recommended).
  • Equivalent professional experience in technical documentation may be accepted in place of certification.
  • DoD 8140 compliance: IA awareness training (required if no privileged access is granted).
  • Strong written communication skills with the ability to translate technical information into clear, user-friendly content.
