Job Summary:

The Welding Trainer is responsible for delivering comprehensive aerospace welding training programs, ensuring adherence to industry standards and safety regulations. This role combines technical mastery in aerospace welding processes with effective instructional skills, aimed at developing high-quality welders capable of meeting stringent aerospace manufacturing requirements. The instructor will also assist in developing training materials, weld procedures, and perform hands-on evaluations and demonstrations to reinforce learning.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

    \n
  • Develop and deliver theoretical and hands-on welding training for operators, technicians, and trainees, focusing on aerospace-specific welding processes such as GTAW on stainless steel and nickel alloys.
  • \n
  • Design and update welding curriculum, lesson plans, and training materials aligned with aerospace standards (e.g., AWS D17.1, ASME, OSHA).
  • \n
  • Demonstrate proper welding techniques, safety practices, and equipment setup to trainees of various experience levels.
  • \n
  • Evaluate trainee proficiency through practical welding tests, assessments, and continuous feedback sessions.
  • \n
  • Provide technical guidance on welding defect identification, troubleshooting, and repair procedures.
  • \n
  • Maintain compliance with all safety, quality, and environmental regulations pertinent to aerospace manufacturing.
  • \n
  • Conduct requalification and periodic weld assessments to ensure ongoing compliance and skill sustainment.
  • \n
  • Develop and refine weld schedules for qualification and certification processes in collaboration with engineering and shop management.
  • \n
  • Maintain accurate training documentation, records of trainee progress, and certification statuses.
  • \n
  • Stay current with aerospace welding technologies, standards, and best practices through continuous learning and industry engagement.

Education and Experience

    \n
  • High School Diploma, Trade School Welding Certificate, or equivalent (additional technical training or certifications preferred).
  • \n
  • Minimum of 5 years' experience in aerospace or high-precision welding, particularly GTAW on stainless steel and nickel-based alloys.
  • \n
  • Proven experience in training, mentoring, or instructing in a manufacturing or industrial environment, preferably in aerospace.
