Because of the need for consistent, in-person collaboration and/or the requirement to perform all work onsite due to the nature of this particular role, it will be performed full time on site. This means work will be conducted on location at a BAE Systems facility 100% of the time.

Electronic Combat Solutions (ECS) has technology, engineering and program teams that educate and mentor colleagues to deliver leading Electronic Warfare capabilities. In our Program Engineering Manager (PEM) role at Electronic Combat System, you will be building a career in a cohesive team atmosphere leading activities that span new Electronic Warfare capability development through a large and dynamic production environment. You will be responsible to plan, manage and lead an effective interdisciplinary engineering team on challenging projects. The PEM collaborates with program managers, functional engineering managers, and factories to ensure efficient and effective engineering execution on the program. You will own the product from architecture and design through integration test and delivery. This position is located in the Totowa New Jersey area, and will require periodic travel to other BAE facilities and customer sites.

Key Roles, Accountabilities and Responsibilities:
  • Developing and maintaining a diverse interdisciplinary engineering team for the program and leading by example to create a diverse and positive work environment.
  • Responsible for partnering with the program office to manage the successful execution of all engineering efforts (leadership, technical, cost, staffing, and schedule) on the project and proactively monitoring key activities to ensure work scope, product cost targets, schedule, and budget are well defined, achievable, and maintained.
  • Ensures that the engineering staff adheres to the approved plans, requirements, product cost targets, and schedules by attending program control meetings, design reviews, and by auditing processes, reviewing status and communicating regularly with the cost account managers.
  • Leads team in planning and the execution of program and engineering reviews per company process. Actively coordinates with functional managers, chief engineers and senior engineering management to engage all stakeholders in effective reviews and obtains approvals. Maintains compliance with applicable engineering process and standards.
  • Serves as the Engineering focal point for all activity within the program including strategic planning, bid and proposal support for engineering content, integrated engineering plans on programs, issue reporting, and risk and opportunity management.
  • Develops staffing requirements for programs and interfaces with functional engineering organizations to ensure program is properly staffed and ready for successful execution.

Required Education, Experience, & Skills
  • Requires qualified candidates to hold an active Secret security clearance with the ability to obtain Special Program clearances
  • Bachelor of Science degree in engineering/technical discipline, and 8+ year(s) related experience or equivalent experience, training and/or certifications
  • Demonstrated leadership skills (soft skills, strategic thinking, business acumen, building teams, building customer relationships)
  • Strong planning and organizational skills with the ability to diagnose, resolve complex problems and to develop improved methods to increase program efficiency
  • Proven written and oral communication skills, including presentation skills

Preferred Education, Experience, & Skills
  • Preference will be given the candidates with active Top Secret clearance
  • Design experience in Software and/or System Engineering
  • Experience in Agile and DEVSECOPS based program development
  • SAP/SAR Clearance highly preferred

    Pay Information
    Full-Time Salary Range: $147300 - $250400

    Please note: This range is based on our market pay structures. However, individual salaries are determined by a variety of factors including, but not limited to: business considerations, local market conditions, and internal equity, as well as candidate qualifications, such as skills, education, and experience.
