Job Details
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Remediate PDF documents using Adobe Acrobat, Common Look, and similar tools to ensure compliance with accessibility standards; ensure complex documents meet or exceed applicable standards.
Perform document remediation for other formats, including web pages and Microsoft Office documents.
Utilize assistive technologies, such as screen readers (JAWS, Narrator, NVDA), to manually ensure documents are accessible, equitable, and functional.
Support and fulfill accessibility accommodation requests from external stakeholders.
Track and report on document remediation activities and progress.
Stay current with updated or new accessibility and document standards.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications:
Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Access, Excel, Word, Outlook) and Adobe products.
Ability to quickly learn and apply new software skills.
Software: Adobe Acrobat, Microsoft Office.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience authoring and remediating documents for accessibility, including auditing for accessibility compliance.
4-6 years of experience using Adobe Acrobat/Pro and Microsoft Office.
Experience with Common Look PDF or other document remediation tools, and assistive technology such as screen readers (JAWS, NVDA, Narrator, etc.) for manual accessibility testing.
Strong communication, organizational, time management, prioritization, and collaboration skills.
Proven ability to independently identify and analyze issues, develop solutions, and implement action plans.
Familiarity with accessibility standards, including Section 508, WCAG, and PDF/UA.
Strong attention to technical detail.
