Job Description
The purpose of this position is to provide the essential administrative, technical knowledge, and direction as listed. This role has the responsibility to promote Fluor's competitiveness within the global marketplace by delivering quality services of unmatched value and technical competence. This position serves as Design Area Lead on assigned projects and performs 3D layout with moderate to difficult complexity design scope.
This position will serve as an I&C Microstation CAD Designer, working closely with the Area Leads, Engineers, and Designers within the Control Systems team. This is a technical drafting position, creating and revising CAD drawings in Microstation, following the documented project CAD standards, team design guides, and CAD checking practices.
Prepare 3D layouts and/or schematics for conceptual and detailed designs of advanced complexity
Conduct reviews of model using 3D review platform and create 3D models of advanced complexity
Check work done by other Designers
Develop estimates, schedules, staffing requirements, progress reports, and key quantities tracking reports
Analyze and make independent recommendations regarding solutions to problems with varying complexity in accordance with organization and/or project objectives and guidelines
Organize and prioritize a variety of projects and multiple tasks in an effective and timely manner, set priorities, and meet deadlines
Other duties as assigned
Basic Job Requirements
Accredited two (2) year degree or global equivalent in technical field of study, or; A combination of education and directly related experience equal to six (6) years; some locations may have additional or different qualifications in order to comply with local requirements
Ability to communicate effectively with audiences that include but are not limited to management, coworkers, clients, vendors, contractors, and visitors
Job related technical knowledge necessary to complete the job
Ability to learn and apply knowledge of applicable local, state/province, and federal/national statutes and guidelines
Ability to attend to detail and work in a time-conscious and time-effective manner
Knowledge of commercial availability and cost of materials
Practical field experience
Intermediate computer and software skills to include the use of word processing, e-mail, spreadsheet and electronic presentation programs
Other Job Requirements
Develop new drawings based on existing templates and specific design input from engineers or designers.
Revise existing drawings using redline markups, written revision descriptions, or general revision procedures.
Participate in CAD checking, both self-checking and team checking of drawings prepared by others
Documented relevant and recent Microstation CAD experience with I&C, Electrical, or other relevant discipline.
Technical Degree a plus but not required with appropriate experience and talents.
