Job Details

Job Title: Windows System Administrator
Location: REMOTE

Type: Contract through the end of 2025
Compensation: 50-70/hr
Contractor Work Model: Remote
Hours: Meeting hours will be Mountain Time Zone

Systems Administrator
Requirements
  • Bachelor's Degree in an information technology related field with at least 6 or more years of relevant experience
    *Higher education may substitute for relevant experience
    *Relevant experience may be considered in lieu of required education
  • Prior experience with systems administration in Windows or Linux environments
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills to interact effectively with others
  • Demonstrate a customer care philosophy that ensures a high level of customer satisfaction
  • Proven organizational skills with an attention to detail

Preferred/Must haves
  • Manage and maintain servers and related infrastructure components.
  • Manage and maintain AI systems, including hardware and software components.
  • Monitor system performance and ensure optimal operation of IT infrastructure.
  • Perform system upgrades, patches, and routine maintenance to ensure security and reliability.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve on premise and cloud infrastructure
  • Implement and maintain backup and disaster recovery solutions.
  • Administer and support Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, and other network services.
  • Administrator and support Azure Entra and RBAC
  • Manage virtualization environments (e.g., VMware, Hyper-V) and cloud services (e.g., AWS, Azure).
  • Collaborate with other IT team members to develop and implement IT policies and procedures.
  • Provide technical support and guidance to end-users and junior IT staff.
  • Maintain documentation for system configurations, procedures, and network diagrams.
  • Ensure NIST 800-171 compliance.
  • 4 + years of experience in implementing and supporting AWS and Azure operations.
  • 4 + years of experience in implementing and supporting VMware (vRealize, vRealize Operations, vRealize Automation).
  • 5 + years of experience with IT operations monitoring tools (PRTG, vRealize Operations, SolarWinds)
  • Plans and coordinates the setup, installation, and configuration of the operating system (including hardware and software), new software releases, and upgrades.
  • Solid understanding of network and security protocols, such as TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, and firewall management.
  • Solid Knowledge of PowerShell scripting and the ability to automate tasks using scripting.
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to collaborate with other IT team members and stakeholders.
