Job Summary:

As an IT Network Engineer, you will be an important part of a team responsible for the ongoing operations and deploying new networking solutions in support of the Global Salas O'Brien IT infrastructure. This is a fully remote position but there will be occasional planned travel. Combined with your technical skills, you will be involved in and contributing to organization-wide initiatives working with internal and external teams. Initiatives include business process analysis and improvement, project management and planning, mergers and acquisition systems integrations, vendor and/or technology evaluations, technology deployment and rollout, 3rd party service provider collaboration and management, licensing analysis, cybersecurity initiatives.

In this role, you will:
  • Configure and install various network devices and services (e.g., routers, switches, firewalls, wireless access points, load balancers, VPN, QoS)
  • Perform network maintenance and system upgrades including service packs, patches, hot fixes and security configurations
  • Monitor performance and ensure system availability and reliability
  • Monitor system resource utilization, trending, and capacity planning
  • Provide Level 1-2 support and troubleshooting to resolve issues
  • Work within established configuration and change management policies to ensure awareness, approval and success of changes made to the network infrastructure
  • Select and implement security tools, policies, and procedures in conjunction with the company's security team
  • Support critical projects outside of normal business hours, including after-hours support and participation in on-call rotation.

Skills/abilities:
  • Bachelor's degree, preferred.
  • 5+ years of direct IT related work experience
  • Familiarity with managing an SD-WAN environment is a plus
  • Familiarity with Firewall solutions (e.g. Fortinet, Palo Alto, Cisco & SonicWALL)
  • Familiarity with VPN or ZTNA technologies a plus
  • Familiarity with Azure/AWS Cloud networking
  • Familiarity with an IP Address Management (IPAM) Solution
  • Familiarity with system migrations including, but not limited to, Email, Office 365, WAN, LAN, DNS, Security, Windows Domain/AD, applications, services, etc. a plus
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Windows environment management (Servers and workstations) a plus
  • Familiarity with Windows Active Directory
  • Familiarity with Linux/ Unix Server administration
  • Familiarity with NIST 800-171 or CMMC Framework are a plus
  • Deep understanding of networking fundamentals, including LAN, WAN, VLANs, routing, and the ability to perform network consolidations.
  • Experience with the configuration and installation of server and networking equipment including racking and stacking servers, switches, wireless access points, and rack cable management.

The expected base salary range for this role is $90,000 - $120,000 USD per year. Actual compensation will be determined based on a number of factors including skills, experience, qualifications, and location.
