Application/Solution Architect
The team often uses the terms Application Architect and Solution Architect interchangeably. However, to clarify: this is not a Database Architect position.

Key Role Requirements:
This is an Application/Solution Architecture role that requires a strong understanding of both relational and non-relational databases, data lakes, and data storage environments.
While Postgres is used, we are not seeking someone to lead database migrations. We use Amazon Aurora as our database service in AWS.

Primary Responsibilities:
Collaborate with business architects, chief product owners, product owners, chief delivery leads, and delivery leads to develop multi-level solution architectures.
Responsible for:
Mapping current state
Defining the roadmap to the target state
Delivering architecture artifacts across different levels (L0, L1, L2) as per SAFe Agile and TOGAF frameworks.
Ensure all solutions align with enterprise-wide standards, including platform, data, and security guidelines.
Address non-functional requirements (NFRs) such as scalability, performance, and security in solution designs.
Provide an architecture runway to support delivery of business capabilities.
Conduct market analysis for COTS (Commercial Off-The-Shelf) products brought in by the business.
Perform build vs. buy feasibility and decision-making.

Required Expertise:

Experience: 10+ years in architecture roles

Proven experience in solution architecture patterns, including:
Micro Frontend
Microservices
12-Factor App Methodology
Distributed Transactions
SAGA Patterns
Strong understanding of enterprise security standards and the ability to incorporate security requirements into solution architecture.

Preferred Qualifications:
Background in the mortgage domain is a plus.
Experience with containerization technologies is beneficial.

Additional Details:
Legacy Modernization: Involves migration of legacy applications, including .NET apps and a Sybase database developed in-house over the past 20+ years.
