SUMMARY This position is responsible for providing administration and curriculum oversight for the Training & Certification program. With a strong mastery in management, industry codes and standards and course development practices, this individual oversees the operations of the training department as well as the creation of new or revised curriculum educating students with information to install, integrate, sell and service electronic security and life safety systems that help to keep people, places and property safe. The Training Operations Manager works closely with the Director of Membership and Training to ensure training is consistently evaluated, updated and expanded upon to meet the growing demands of the industry. This position is the key point of contact for all state regulatory agencies and is responsible for maintaining state approvals on training and certification programs and expanding recognition in new states and jurisdictions by collaborating with the public affairs department.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS SALES/MARKETING

v Responsible for ensuring the information for all National Training School programming on websites is up-to-date and accurate.

o This includes adding new courses to the website for purchase and updating state licensing information to ensure prospective buyers have all the correct and up-to-date information for requirements to keep staff licensed and in compliance to install/integrate electronic security and life safety technology.

v Collaborates with the marketing team to ensure a seamless customer experience on the courses.esaweb.org site is achieved to allow for hassle free purchasing and access to training. v Supports Director of Membership and Training with information and assistance where applicable to secure large company training customers

.

v Assists in proofing training/certification-related marketing materials and emails. v Leads effort to increase visibility and approvals of training amongst AHJs, consultants, specifiers and the industry at large.

Director of Training and Certification 2024 OPERATIONS

v Develops, evolves and instills efficient processes within the department to ensure students have access to quality training, that certifications can be efficiently renewed and communication with customers is of the highest effectiveness and excellence to serve student s needs and encourage future training purchases.

v Maintain an active voice among leadership as a training advocate, participating in planning and strategy meetings, recommending new topics to cover to consistently prove to be a reliable resource to electronic security and life safety industry.

v Supervises all training order fulfillment, collecting and analyzing student feedback for course/process development.

v Works with technology leader and membership department to ensure synergy with systems and processes to effectively convert members to training customers and training customers to members. Ensures members receive appropriate training discounts.

v Responsible for administration of Certification Renewals and new Certifications ensuring all National Training School policies and guidelines are adhered to.

v Supervises and supports instructor certification program to ensure instructors are in compliance with certification requirements and utilizing the most up-to-date course materials. v Manages relationships with Education Committee volunteers, subject matter experts, instructors, AHJs and state licensing officials.

v Serves as staff liaison leading and supporting Education Committee, along with actively participating with Codes and Standards Committee.

CURRICULUM DEVELOPMENT

v Works with Instructional Designer and COO to design and manage a learning experience that meets and exceeds current student expectations. Includes management of learning materials including: course content, exercises and exams, course manuals, etc.

v Manages and leads all course development initiatives, working collaboratively with subject matter experts, instruction designers, volunteers and leadership. v Ensures course content is copyrighted with the US Federal Copyright Office.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS v Assists staff as needed when preparing to attend trade shows, events.

v Trains and mentors training administrator and instructional designer. v Professional written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills.

v Ability to work with diverse interest groups to seek collaboration and consensus.

Director of Training and Certification 2024 v Ability to participate in and facilitate group meetings both virtual and in-person.

v Proficient with MS Office products including; Microsoft Word, PowerPoint and Excel.

v Position requires willingness to work a flexible schedule and travel up to 15% of the time.

OTHER DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES v Interacts with, aptly informs, and maintains appropriate relations with: fellow staff, contractors, customers, members, volunteers and vendors as well as professional and service groups and government entities.

v Maintains a perpetually current understanding of Association business, goals, values, direction, events and activities through on-going review of website and assimilation of information provide through Association publications, email newsletters, etc.

REPORTING AND SUPERVISING RELATIONSHIPS This position works independently with minimal supervision. v Supervision received from Director of Membership and Training. v Manages team of training administrator and instructional designer.

QUALIFICATIONS v Combination of at least four or more years of industry experience. v Experience with membership-based organizations.

v Strong technical field knowledge with proven track record of excellence.

v Proven management experience. v Industry experience with certifications, licensing and compliance.
