We are seeking a skilled Teradata Developer with strong experience in SQL development, performance optimization, and mainframe JCL processes. The ideal candidate will have prior experience working in the insurance domain, especially with the Guidewire suite, and be comfortable working in both Teradata and Mainframe environments.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design, develop, and optimize complex SQL queries within the Teradata environment.
- Build and maintain Teradata tables and views to support business requirements.
- Use Teradata load utilities (e.g., FastLoad, MultiLoad, TPump) for data ingestion and transformation (experience is a plus).
- Create, update, and troubleshoot Mainframe JCLs and Control Members that interact with Teradata BEQ's (Batch Environment Queries).
- Monitor, execute, and troubleshoot jobs within a mainframe environment to ensure data availability and reliability.
- Collaborate with business analysts and application teams to gather and understand data requirements.
- Provide performance tuning and optimization for queries and data loads.
- Leverage knowledge of the Guidewire insurance suite to support data extraction and processing needs (a plus).
- Ensure code follows established standards and best practices.
Required Qualifications:
- 3+ years of hands-on experience with Teradata SQL development and performance optimization.
- Strong knowledge in building Teradata tables and views.
- Experience working with Mainframe JCL and Control Members.
- Familiarity with Teradata utilities (e.g., FastLoad, MultiLoad) is a plus.
- Proficient in troubleshooting Teradata-related job failures in batch/mainframe environments.
- Experience in the insurance industry, particularly with the Guidewire platform, is a plus.
- Strong problem-solving and debugging skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
