Work Arrangement
Onsite - This position requires the employee to be onsite five days a week. Primary work location will be the General Motors Global Technical Center in Warren, MI. This position has the potential to require domestic travel of up to 50-75%
The Role
Flawless Launch Execution Lead Manufacturing Engineer will leading a team of engineers focused on the successful execution of manufacturing engineering projects. This includes overseeing all aspects of project implementation, from initial processing, design and development to final production launch at the assembly site. The Lead ME will work closely with cross-functional teams, including strategic suppliers, operations, quality, and supply chain to ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards. This individual will be involved with setting the direction for the future of our manufacturing process. This position takes on a high level of independent decision making and communication as the lead GA ME onsite during project installation and startup.

What You Will Do
- Lead and mentor a team of engineers, providing guidance, training, and performance feedback throughout the processing, development, build, implementation, and startup at plant facilities.
- Develop and implement project plans, investment required, timelines, and budgets.
- Monitor project progress, identify and resolve roadblocks, and mitigate risks.
- Ensure adherence to engineering standards, best practices, bill of process, bill of equipment, safety, and regulatory requirements. Develop statement of requirements for Tooling and Equipment.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure smooth project execution and successful product launches. Providing technical direction to and oversight of strategic suppliers
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives within the Manufacturing Engineering, Strategic Suppliers, and Product Engineering.
- Maintain and meet project budgets/forecasts and drive cost reduction initiatives.
- Stay abreast of industry trends and emerging technologies in manufacturing engineering.
Additional Job Description
Your Skills & Abilities (Required Qualifications)
- 5+ years of experience in a manufacturing engineering role, demonstrating expertise in engineering practices and processes.
- A proven track record of successfully delivering projects within a manufacturing environment, including equipment installation and construction, highlighting your capability to manage complex initiatives.
- Strong proficiency in project management methodologies, such as Agile and Six Sigma, ensuring efficient project execution and continuous improvement.
- Experience with processing equipment, throughput, and comprehensive understanding of manufacturing processes, enabling effective design and production.
- In-depth knowledge of lean manufacturing principles and continuous improvement methodologies, fostering operational efficiency and waste reduction.
- A strong understanding of safety regulations and procedures, ensuring a safe working environment for all team members.
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
What Will Give You a Competitive Edge (Preferred Qualifications)
- Experience in a supervisory or management capacity, showcasing the ability to lead teams effectively and drive results.
- Experience in a high-volume manufacturing environment, demonstrating the ability to thrive in fast-paced settings. Experience with reliability and maintainability of processing equipment, standalone availability, and throughput.
- Experience in Launching new product. Thorough knowledge of Manufacturing Processes and Equipment and Global Launch Process and Global Vehicle Development Process.
- Familiarity with robotics and automation technologies, contributing to innovative manufacturing solutions.
- Experience with data analysis and statistical process control (SPC), enabling informed decision-making and process optimization.
- Master's degree in engineering
