Quality Assurance Analyst Advanced
Project Duration: 12 Months (Possibility for Extension)
Work Location: Remote
Hours/Week: 40 Hours
Work Hours: 8 AM to 5 PM
About the Role:
We are seeking an experienced Quality Assurance Tester to support the South Carolina Department of Health and Human Services (SCDHHS) and Clemson MITS on several mission-critical Medicaid systems including MEDS, MMIS, MMRS, and RMMIS. This role will focus on the testing and validation of software enhancements and federally mandated system changes, working closely with technical teams, users, and external partners.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop, execute, and maintain test scenarios for system modifications.
- Perform functional, regression, and user acceptance testing (UAT) on Medicaid systems.
- Analyze and resolve discrepancies between expected and actual test results.
- Coordinate and collaborate with internal stakeholders and external healthcare providers/trading partners.
- Support the testing of federally mandated changes and integrations with external systems and agencies.
- Document and communicate testing results effectively, both in writing and verbally.
- Participate in regular project meetings and provide QA status updates.

- MVS COBOL
- JCL (Job Control Language)
- Software Testing & QA Methodology
- Creation and Execution of Test Scenarios
Preferred Skills:
- CA-ADS
- SQL
- Serena Changeman or other version/change control tools
- Experience using testing tools
- Medicaid (MMIS) or healthcare claims processing experience
Education Required:
- Bachelor s Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field
- Proven experience in Quality Assurance Testing in a mainframe environment
Certifications:
- None required, but QA-related certifications are a plus (e.g., ISTQB, CSTE)
Important Notes to Candidates:
- Candidates should have hands-on QA/testing experience (not just development experience).
- Ideal candidates have contributed end-to-end on projects, not just supported minor testing tasks.
- Resumes must not exceed 2 pages and should accurately reflect hands-on QA experience.
- Healthcare IT, Medicaid, or eligibility systems experience is a strong advantage.
- Candidates must be able to deliver a coherent presentation during the interview process.
