Description Join Apple's modem team to build advanced DevOps infrastructure supporting groundbreaking 5G/4G cellular firmware development. As a Modem Firmware DevOps Engineer, you'll be at the center of our embedded cellular physical layer firmware effort, working within the Advanced Technologies Group responsible for crafting and productizing powerful cellular SoCs. You'll develop automation systems, integrate LLM capabilities into enterprise workflows, and create modern CI/CD pipelines that accelerate firmware development. This role requires expertise in both traditional DevOps practices and emerging technologies, with opportunities to explore how large language models can enhance embedded systems development workflows. Responsibilities
  • Design and implement automation systems for firmware development workflows
  • Integrate LLM capabilities into enterprise development pipelines for code analysis, documentation generation, and workflow optimization
  • Develop CI/CD systems that leverage data analytics for predictive analysis and automated decision-making
  • Create automated testing infrastructure with enhanced test generation and analysis capabilities
  • Build monitoring and analytics platforms that identify patterns, predict issues, and optimize development processes
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify opportunities for modern tooling integration in firmware development workflows
  • Develop APIs and interfaces that connect advanced services with existing development toolchains

Minimum Qualifications
  • BS and a minimum of 10 years relevant industry experience.
  • Proficiency in Python for automation, API development, and integration work.
  • Familiarity with developing REST APIs and microservices architectures.
  • Familiarity with containerization (Docker) and orchestration (Kubernetes) platforms.

Preferred Qualifications
  • MS in Computer Science, Electrical or Computer engineering.
  • Hands-on experience with Git and modern CI/CD platforms (Jenkins, GitLab CI, GitHub Actions).
  • Experience with automated testing frameworks and modern test generation approaches.
  • Knowledge of monitoring and visualization tools with analytics capabilities.
  • Experience with cloud services (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud Platform).
  • Understanding of prompt engineering and LLM workflow optimization.

Pay & Benefits At Apple, base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. This provides the opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role. The base pay range for this role is between $171,600 and $302,200, and your base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.
