Electronics Test Engineering (ETE) is at the forefront of ensuring the reliability and performance of cutting-edge avionic electrical and electronic systems. We design, integrate, and deploy advanced test solutions that support the entire lifecycle-from development and qualification to production testing-of a wide range of avionic devices. Our cross-functional team includes Project Engineers, Circuit Designers, Software Developers, and Test Requirements Engineers, all working collaboratively to deliver high-quality support to global Program and Product teams, as well as to Production facilities worldwide.
Within ETE, the Test Requirements Specification (TRS) Engineer plays a pivotal role in defining and developing test strategies for a variety of electronic product lines within the Electric Systems business unit. These products include analog and digital printed wiring boards (PWBs), electronic controllers, and power conversion/distribution units integral to aircraft electrical power generation systems.
This role demands a strong foundation in both signal-level and power circuit design, along with a deep understanding of production test methodologies. The ideal candidate is not only technically proficient but also an effective communicator, capable of translating complex requirements into clear, actionable test solutions. The salary range for this role is 66,000 USD - 130,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate's work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.
Hired applicants may be eligible for benefits, including but not limited to, medical, dental, vision, life insurance, short-term disability, long-term disability, 401(k) match, flexible spending accounts, flexible work schedules, employee assistance program, Employee Scholar Program, parental leave, paid time off, and holidays. Specific benefits are dependent upon the specific business unit as well as whether or not the position is covered by a collective-bargaining agreement.

What You Will Do
- Analyze electrical schematics to develop a robust test strategy for a given circuit and determine coverage the tests provide to each component in the circuit.
- Participate in the requirements generation and design of test equipment. Integration and troubleshooting of test solutions.
- Develop and maintain product test documentation.
- Develop and/or improve test requirements related processes.
- Work in a cross-functional, agile team that includes project, circuit, software, hardware, requirements, and product engineers.
Qualifications You Must Have
- Typically requires a University Degree and minimum 2 years of prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field
Qualifications We Prefer
- Experience in circuit analysis
- Experience with software and test sequencing
- Masters in Electrical Engineering
- Experience with power electronics
- Experience with Extensible Markup Language (XML), Microsoft Word, Visio, Excel
