The SQL Server/ SSRS Developer will work as a data specialist and will work with the on design, development and optimization of the ETL process and the reporting data mart for critical client profile and related product revenue and volume data. The duties will also include working with development leads in finalizing ETL architecture, monitoring compliance with changes made in systems of record, and overseeing data conversions and migrations. In addition to this the developer will also be expected to build formatted reports using standard BI tools. The engineer will also work with application support teams to ensure design incorporates requires monitoring and alerting mechanisms to ensure timeliness and accuracy of reporting data.
To succeed in this role, you should know how to examine new data system requirements and implement migration models. The ideal candidate will also have proven experience in data analysis and management, building large scale data marts for high volume and near real time reporting and possess excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.
Key responsibilities
- Prepare accurate database design and architecture documents for management and executive teams.
- Designing and coding the solution to ensure it meets client activity monitoring reporting requirements.
- Developing optimal solutions for sourcing required data from upstream systems and transferring it into the new warehousing environment.
- Assess database implementation procedures to ensure they comply with internal and external regulations.
- Oversee the migration of data from legacy systems to new solutions.
- Monitor the system performance by performing regular tests, troubleshooting, and integrating new features.
- Educate staff members through training and individual support.
- Offer support by responding to system problems in a timely manner.
Qualifications
Minimum 10 years of experience with the following:
- A minimum of 5 years' experience in a similar role.
- strong knowledge of database structure systems and data mining.
- strong knowledge of object-oriented design and development
- strong SQL skills with experience working on relational databases (MS SQL Server or equivalent)
- Experience using DB tools like Toad Data Point, Toad Data Modeler etc.
- Knowledge of Global Banking and Markets client data management requirements
- Experience working in Agile teams and good understanding of software development lifecycle
- Experience design data marts for near real time, high volume reporting needs
- Experience with multiple business intelligence tools and working with modern ETL processing based on streaming data
- Experience building formatted reports using BI tools like SSRS, Power BI or Cognos
- Excellent organizational and analytical abilities.
- Outstanding problem solver.
- Good written and verbal communication skills.
3-5 years of experience with the following will be also be required:
- Development tools - Visual Studio, Eclipse
- Business Intelligence Tools - SSRS, Power BI, Tableau, Cognos or similar tools
- Programming experience - Python or similar languages
Knowledge of the following platforms will be a plus:
- Cloud-enabled application design and development
