Description

We are looking for an experienced Manager of Applications Development to lead and oversee the design, implementation, and maintenance of enterprise-level IT systems and applications. Based in West Palm Beach, Florida, this role focuses on managing a team of professionals to ensure high-quality application development and support for both in-house and vendor-supported systems. The ideal candidate will bring strong leadership skills and technical expertise to help drive the success of our IT initiatives.

Responsibilities:
Lead and manage the Enterprise Systems team, ensuring efficient coordination of programming, testing, implementation, and maintenance activities.
Provide strategic direction and vision to the team, aligning their efforts with the department's goals and objectives.
Evaluate and analyze existing systems to identify inefficiencies, propose improvements, and develop system specifications.
Design and implement enterprise-level IT solutions based on organizational needs and requirements.
Perform Linux-based systems administration, including installation, configuration, maintenance, and troubleshooting of server hardware and software.
Establish and enforce programming standards, project management best practices, and development tools to maintain quality and consistency.
Assess new technologies and applications to determine their suitability for the organization, while serving as a technical resource for system management.
Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders, including local agencies and municipalities, to ensure system alignment and functionality.
Prepare and review Requests for Information, Quotes, and Proposals for technology projects, specifying requirements, standards, and timelines where applicable.

Requirements

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field from an accredited institution.
At least eight (8) years of progressive experience in applications development, implementation, and support for enterprise-level systems.
A minimum of four (4) years of leadership or management experience in IT project delivery and team oversight.
Proficiency in Linux and Windows operating systems, as well as expertise in database administration.
Strong knowledge of enterprise technologies, including ERP systems, CRM platforms, and cloud-based solutions.
Hands-on experience with tools and frameworks such as ASP.NET, API development, and Agile Scrum methodologies.
Familiarity with project management tools like Atlassian Jira and a strong understanding of IT project management principles.
Excellent communication and vendor management skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across teams and organizations.
