Title: Jr. Data Owner


Location: Columbus, OH (5 Days Onsite every Week)

Additional Job Details:
Primary Skillset-Mandatory

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Data Management, or a related field.
  • 1-3 years of experience in data governance, data management, or a related technology discipline (internships and project experience considered).
  • Basic understanding of API concepts, lifecycle, and documentation (OpenAPI/Swagger, REST, GraphQL).
  • Exposure to event-driven architectures or messaging platforms (e.g., Apache Kafka)
  • Familiarity with data governance principles and frameworks (e.g., DAMA-DMBOK, DCAM) preferred.
  • Awareness of data privacy, security, and regulatory requirements relevant to financial services (e.g., GDPR, CCPA, internal data policies).
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills. Proficient in Excel and/or data analysis tools; experience with SQL is a plus.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills; ability to work collaboratively with technical and business stakeholders.

Skillset to Have:
  • Experience in financial services or a regulated
  • Exposure to API and event management platforms (e.g., Apigee, Apache Kafka, etc.) or data catalog tools (e.g., Collibra, Alation).
  • Certification or coursework in data governance, data management, or financial services compliance.

  • Assist in reviews of new and existing Data Models, APIs and events to ensure alignment with data governance standard and requirements.
  • Support documentation and maintenance for the metadata, schemas, and lineage information of reviewed APIs and events
  • Collaborate with technology and business teams to ensure consistent application of governance standards across teams.
  • Collaborate with information architecture to gain a thorough understanding of proposed standards for data models, APIs, and events, ensuring alignment and effective implementation across projects
  • Help prepare reports and dashboards on API/event governance metrics and compliance status.
  • Contribute to training and awareness initiatives for data governance best practices
