Akkodis is seeking a Java Developer - II for a Contract job with a client in Mclean,VA. The ideal candidate will have experience in Java application development, including expertise in J2EE, REST APIs, and cloud-native technologies. This role involves building scalable web applications and microservices using modern development tools and frameworks.
Pay Range: $49.24/hour to $64.39/hour; The rate may be negotiable based on experience, education, geographic location, and other factors.

Java Developer - II job responsibilities include:
- Design and develop modern, complex web applications using Java and J2EE.
- Implement REST API design patterns and secure services using Spring Security and OAuth.
- Develop microservices using the Spring framework and related technologies.
- Utilize development tools such as GIT, Maven, Jenkins, JIRA, and Confluence.
- Work across operating systems including RedHat Linux and Windows.
- Manage and optimize databases, particularly MySQL.
- Deploy and manage applications in cloud environments, especially Azure.
- Work with containerization and orchestration tools like Docker and Kubernetes.
- Perform Java performance tuning and troubleshooting.
Desired Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.
- 8-10 years of experience in Java application development.
- Strong knowledge of Spring framework, REST APIs, and microservices architecture.
- Experience with DevOps tools and CI/CD pipelines.
- Familiarity with cloud services, especially Azure.
- Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.
