Job Details

We are looking for a strategic and data-driven Business Analyst with strong GIS and Spatial data experience to support our environmental and landfill operations. This role bridges the gap between business needs and geospatial technology, using data insights to improve operational efficiency, regulatory compliance, and sustainability outcomes.

Hybrid: 4 days in the office, Mon, Tues, Wed, Thursday - Friday work from home

Must Have- Business Analysis, Requirements Gathering, GIS, ArCGis, SQL, Snowflake

Key Responsibilities:

  • Bachelor s degree in business Analytics, Environmental Science, GIS, or a related field.
  • 5+ years of experience in business analysis, with a strong focus on GIS applications.
  • Understanding of spatial projections/datums/coordinate systems. Eg. Ability to explain projected coordinate system versus geographic coordinate system, and what the datum is and why it matters.
  • Understanding of different databases capable of storing spatial data: e.g. snowflake, postgres, file geodatabase, good understanding of various Geospatial data types, Geography & Geometry
  • Proficiency in GIS software (e.g., ArcGIS Pro, QGIS) and data visualization tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau).
  • Understanding of other formats for spatial data: e.g. geojson, shapefile, wkt
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
  • Familiarity with environmental regulations practices is a plus.
  • Requirements gathering for operational, environmental, and spatial data to identify trends, inefficiencies, and opportunities for improvement in processes.
  • Use GIS tools to support emissions monitoring using ArcGIS, able to gather requirements for ArcGIS enhancements, building ArcGIS dashboards, and feature classes.
  • Requirements gathering for converting spatial data into different formats
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to gather business requirements and translate them into data-driven solutions and actionable insights.
  • Support regulatory reporting and environmental compliance through spatial and statistical analysis.
