Description APPLE INC has the following available in Seattle, Washington. Research, design, and develop computer and network software or specialized utility to build robust data engineering systems and products. Build high quality data warehousing frameworks and data pipelines with high reliability and availability, for downstream analytical usage. Build relationships with data scientists, product managers and software engineers to build robust data and analytics pipelines on massive terabyte scale data. Partner closely with the Siri data team and Siri engineering teams to gather use cases and work cross functionally with developers to instrument necessary logging. Build data, visualization and other analytical products with a drive to automate and scale them. Hold data products and pipelines to high levels of scrutiny and attention around privacy. 40 hours/week. At Apple, base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. This provides the opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role. The base pay range for this role is between $171,600 - $258,100/yr and your base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location. Minimum Qualifications
  • Master's Degree or foreign equivalent in Information Technology, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Business Analytics, Project Management or related field.
  • Experience and/or education must include:
  • Data modeling for terabyte scale data to create properly grained and labeled data tables, high quality queries and rollup and roll down.
  • Advanced SQL such as windowing, optimization, joins, aggregations, and analytic functions to create ETL pipeline transformations, analytic dashboards, and debug queries.
  • Utilizing Python and data transformation language such as in UDFs and reading and writing data files for orchestration within Airflow.
  • Utilizing Spark to built ETL pipelines and run quality audits.
  • Industry standard SDLC practices at large, software development life-cycle, such as code review, quality-checks, unit testing, multi-tier deployment and validation, CI/CD, and code versioning.
  • Data quality auditing, both during the development lifecycle and during everyday production maintenance including defining and implementing unit tests, golden data sets, and quality workflows for development and quality frameworks, metrics, and thresholds for production.
  • Technical documentation writing within code and formal documentation tools such as Quip, Word, and Confluence.
  • Experience writing clear docstrings that developers use to understand how a code package works, what its expected inputs are, and what, if any, its expected output is; and experience informing on-call with playbooks, partnering with business-centric explanation, and lowering the need for human intervention in common support questions.
