Oracle Lead Developer

Job Description

We are seeking a seasoned Oracle Lead Developer to join a high-impact team delivering core enterprise solutions at a premier client in the banking domain. This role requires deep expertise in Oracle database development, performance tuning, and production support within complex database environments.

You will partner with business stakeholders and technical teams to analyze data needs, design robust database solutions, and troubleshoot critical issues affecting database performance, security, and integrity.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Collaborate with stakeholders to understand data requirements, design and develop databases aligning with business goals

• Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to database integrity, blocking, deadlocking, connectivity, and security

• Diagnose and resolve Oracle-related CPU, memory, I/O, disk space, and other resource contention issues

• Manage encrypted Oracle databases, including security best practices

• Conduct performance tuning and query optimization using relevant tools such as Performance Monitor

• Execute backups, restores, recovery, and routine database maintenance tasks

• Write and troubleshoot SQL code and design database objects (stored procedures, functions, triggers, indexes, packages, constraints)

• Document processes, procedures, and technical solutions

• Perform Oracle database upgrades across versions

• Provide technical support and coordination involving servers, network, storage, and software infrastructure components

Experience and Education Requirements

• Minimum 8+ years of experience in software development using Oracle SQL, PL/SQL, and Unix/Linux environments

• Extensive experience developing stored procedures, functions, triggers, views, cursors, packages, and exception handling

• Knowledge of Python is a plus

• Expertise in database performance tuning and Unix shell scripting/programming

• Experience with Oracle data replication technologies such as GoldenGate and QLIK replication software

• Strong background in developing programs for importing data into Oracle databases using PL/SQL and SQL*Loader

• Hands-on experience with ETL processes for loading data from Oracle to Data Warehouse systems

• Experience in deployment, production support, and handling direct customer interactions

• Strong analytical, diagnostic, and troubleshooting capabilities

• Proficient in Oracle database design, data modeling, and query tuning

• Able to work effectively in a dynamic, team-oriented environment
