Position summary:

We are seeking an experienced IT Systems Analyst II or Sr. to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for supporting the end-to-end ServiceNow platform, including components such as Incident, Change, Request, Asset, and knowledge base management. The candidate will also focus on process improvement and automation opportunities. You will collect and develop requirements related to Black Hills Energy's ServiceNow Roadmap and will support ServiceNow implementations and adoption of changes. A candidate should have a fundamental understanding of IT service management and the ITIL business processes. The ability to clearly communicate with other support groups, development, product, IT leadership, external providers, and business contacts to resolve process issues is also essential.

Pay Range: This posting includes the full pay range for this position. Pay is based on a number of factors and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and internal equity.
Level II: $75,550 - $113,350
Senior: $90,900 - $136,500

Reporting Relationship: IT Applications Manager

Location: Rapid City, South Dakota or Lakewood, Colorado

Essential Functions:
Work with IT and business groups to develop requirements and recommend, design, develop, and test solutions to improve efficiencies, resolve business problems, and improve and create new processes.
Provide technical support to end-users and troubleshoot ServiceNow and other IT-related problems.
Understand IT and business requirements with the ability to develop, test, deploy improvements, and update workflows.
Continually identify opportunities for system and solution improvements as well as ensure that software solutions are scalable to meet demands.
Develop and maintain technical documentation, including system architecture, design documents, and knowledge base articles.
Assist with assimilating new technical changes to ServiceNow into other parts of the business.
Participate in the testing and integration of ServiceNow application(s) with third-party systems/applications via APIs.
Configure application related fields, forms, views, email notifications, acceptance roles and access controls.
Provide regular progress reports to IT management and stakeholders.

Additional Responsibilities:
Participate and assist with successful planned maintenance windows as well as disaster recovery exercises.
Work closely with software developers, database administrators, and other technical teams to ensure successful implementation of ServiceNow Products.
Participate in an after-hours on-call rotation as assigned.

What Is Required:
All Levels:
Bachelor's Degree in a technology related field or equivalent experience
JavaScript, Java, AngularJS, Jelly, PowerShell and other web-specific languages.
Experience working with databases, such as Oracle, SQL Server, or MySQL.
Familiarity with software development methodologies, such as Agile or Waterfall
Strong time management and coordination skills.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to effectively tailor communication of technically complex issues to various audiences
Level II:
Minimum of 3 years of experience supporting enterprise technology, implementing cloud software solutions, or a combination of education and experience.
Senior:
Minimum of 5 years of experience supporting enterprise technology, implementing cloud software solutions, or a combination of education and experience.

What Is Desired:
Minimum of 3 years of experience as a ServiceNow Analyst/developer that demonstrates proven experience in all aspects of ServiceNow development, configuration, and administration
ITIL Foundations v3
ServiceNow Certified System Administrator
Knowledge of cloud computing technologies, such as AWS or Azure.
Familiarity with IT security principles and practices.
Understanding of the implementation process including setup, configuration, and customization of ServiceNow.
Experience with project scoping, planning, requirements gathering, pricing, and process mapping.
