Job Title: Network Engineer Asylum Support Services

Job Description: A public-sector initiative is seeking a skilled Network Engineer to support critical infrastructure tied to emergency response and asylum-related services. The ideal candidate will be responsible for the design, deployment, support, and maintenance of a secure, resilient, and scalable network infrastructure across multiple sites, including support for specialized connectivity platforms and telecommunications.

This role requires hands-on expertise with enterprise-grade networking technologies, excellent troubleshooting skills, and the ability to operate in fast-paced, mission-driven environments.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and implement reliable and scalable network architectures.

  • Configure and maintain routers, switches, wireless access points, and firewalls.

  • Provide ongoing maintenance and monitoring of network infrastructure.

  • Deliver after-hours support as required.

  • Maintain accurate inventory of network hardware.

  • Support internal and external telecommunications, including partnerships with service providers such as Spectrum and FirstNet.

  • Maintain Starlink infrastructure and connectivity.

Mandatory Skills and Experience:

Note: Candidates without these qualifications will not be considered.

  • Minimum 8 years of professional work experience.

  • At least 3 years of hands-on experience in network engineering or infrastructure support roles.

  • In-depth understanding of networking protocols: TCP/IP, BGP, OSPF, EIGRP, DHCP, and DNS.

  • Experience with enterprise networking equipment (Cisco, Juniper, or equivalent).

  • Proficiency with network monitoring tools (e.g., SolarWinds, PRTG, Wireshark).

  • Experience working with firewalls and VPN solutions (Cisco ASA, Palo Alto, Fortinet, etc.).

  • Strong troubleshooting and diagnostic skills.

  • Excellent interpersonal and communication abilities.

  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and perform under pressure.

  • Comfortable working independently in high-demand environments.
