Job Title: Network Engineer Asylum Support Services

Job Description: A public-sector initiative is seeking a skilled Network Engineer to support critical infrastructure tied to emergency response and asylum-related services. The ideal candidate will be responsible for the design, deployment, support, and maintenance of a secure, resilient, and scalable network infrastructure across multiple sites, including support for specialized connectivity platforms and telecommunications.
This role requires hands-on expertise with enterprise-grade networking technologies, excellent troubleshooting skills, and the ability to operate in fast-paced, mission-driven environments.
Key Responsibilities:
Design and implement reliable and scalable network architectures.
Configure and maintain routers, switches, wireless access points, and firewalls.
Provide ongoing maintenance and monitoring of network infrastructure.
Deliver after-hours support as required.
Maintain accurate inventory of network hardware.
Support internal and external telecommunications, including partnerships with service providers such as Spectrum and FirstNet.
Maintain Starlink infrastructure and connectivity.
Mandatory Skills and Experience:
Note: Candidates without these qualifications will not be considered.
Minimum 8 years of professional work experience.
At least 3 years of hands-on experience in network engineering or infrastructure support roles.
In-depth understanding of networking protocols: TCP/IP, BGP, OSPF, EIGRP, DHCP, and DNS.
Experience with enterprise networking equipment (Cisco, Juniper, or equivalent).
Proficiency with network monitoring tools (e.g., SolarWinds, PRTG, Wireshark).
Experience working with firewalls and VPN solutions (Cisco ASA, Palo Alto, Fortinet, etc.).
Strong troubleshooting and diagnostic skills.
Excellent interpersonal and communication abilities.
Ability to manage multiple priorities and perform under pressure.
Comfortable working independently in high-demand environments.
