Job Details
The Network Architect will be responsible for designing, planning, and implementing scalable, secure, and highly available enterprise network infrastructures. The role requires extensive hands-on experience in routing, switching, firewalls, SD-WAN, wireless technologies, and network security. The candidate will collaborate with technology leadership, engineering, and operations teams to define long-term network strategies and support digital transformation initiatives.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design and architect enterprise network solutions supporting LAN, WAN, WLAN, data centre, and cloud environments.
- Develop scalable network topologies, capacity planning, and performance optimization strategies.
- Define and enforce network standards, policies, and security controls aligned with organizational requirements.
- Evaluate existing network infrastructures and recommend modernization or optimization initiatives.
- Lead deployment of advanced technologies including SD-WAN, network virtualization, and software-defined networking.
- Oversee configuration, implementation, and testing of routing, switching, firewalls, load balancers, and perimeter security devices.
- Provide technical leadership for complex troubleshooting, performance tuning, and Level 3 escalations.
- Create network architecture diagrams, documentation, solution design documents, and operational playbooks.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support cloud adoption, digital transformation, and enterprise application rollouts.
- Conduct network risk assessments and ensure compliance with industry standards and regulatory frameworks.
- Work with vendor partners to evaluate new technologies, negotiate solutions, and ensure roadmap alignment.
Required Skills & Competencies:
- Strong expertise in enterprise network architecture and engineering, including:
- Routing and Switching (Cisco, Juniper, Arista, etc.)
- Firewall platforms (Palo Alto, Check Point, Cisco ASA/Firepower, Fortinet)
- SD-WAN solutions
- Wireless networking (Wi-Fi 5/6, controller-based deployments)
- Extensive experience with:
- TCP/IP, OSPF, BGP, MPLS, VLANs, QoS
- Network segmentation and security zoning
- Load balancing solutions
- VPN, IPS/IDS, NAC, and network threat mitigation
- Experience designing hybrid and cloud-connected networks (Azure, AWS, Google Cloud Platform).
- Strong understanding of network automation, scripting, and Infrastructure-as-Code is an advantage.
- Ability to develop detailed architectural documentation and executive-level presentations.
- Excellent analytical, communication, and stakeholder engagement skills.
