Business Analyst

Role Overview

The Business Analyst (BA) will play a pivotal role in driving the successful delivery of project by bridging the gap between business requirements and technical solutions. This individual will be responsible for eliciting, analyzing, and documenting business requirements, ensuring that they are clearly understood and met throughout the project lifecycle.

Key Responsibilities

Requirement Gathering and Analysis:

o Conduct in-depth interviews, workshops, and surveys to gather and understand business requirements.

o Analyze and document requirements, ensuring they are clear, concise, and aligned with project objectives.

o Create detailed user stories and acceptance criteria in Jira, prioritizing them based on business value / Dependency.

o Identify dependencies and potential risks associated with requirements.

o Challenge customers to ensure that new requirements are aligned with the project scope and budget.

o Anticipate potential issues and proactively address them to avoid project delays.

o Work closely with the UX designer to ensure that the wireframes reflect the requirements/user stories.

o Conducts design walkthroughs, demos and functionality feedback sessions with internal and external stakeholders

o Decompose requirements into stories, uncover associated workflows, data and business rules as well as define acceptance criteria based on real world scenarios

o Manage product backlogs and user stories, including prioritization, refinement, estimation, and grooming

Solution Design and Development:

o Collaborate with architects to ensure that technical solutions align with business requirements.

o Identify gaps in requirements and propose solutions to address them.

o Support the development team by providing clarification and answering questions.

Testing and Quality Assurance:

o Develop comprehensive acceptance test cases to validate the implementation of requirements.

o Participate in testing activities to ensure that the delivered solution meets the specified criteria.

Project Management and Reporting:

o Liaise with project managers to provide status updates and address any issues.

o Contribute to project planning and scheduling activities.

o Prepare and deliver project reports as required.

Required Skills and Experience

Proven experience as a Business Analyst in a software development environment.

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, both written and verbal.

Proficiency in using project management tools like Jira.

Knowledge of Agile methodologies (e.g., Scrum).

Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.

Strong understanding of business processes and systems.

Experience in working with cross-functional teams.

Desired Skills (Mandatory)

Certification in Business Analysis (e.g., CBAP, CCBA).

Experience with specific industries or domains.

Knowledge of data analysis and reporting tools.

Experience in UI/UX design and wireframing is a plus
