Kubernetes Engineer (k8s)

100% Remote, must work Alaskan Standard Hours

Oxford s Telecom client is looking to fill an On-Prem Kubernetes Engineer to join their OnPrem infrastructure team. This role is a direct replacement for a recently departed FTE.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage, maintain, and optimize on-prem Kubernetes clusters (K8s)
- Troubleshoot and resolve infrastructure issues across compute, storage, and network layers.
- Work closely with DevOps and application teams to ensure seamless CI/CD integration and environment stability.
- Assist with capacity planning, monitoring, and performance tuning of on-prem systems.
- Participate in infrastructure automation and configuration management efforts.
- Document architecture, procedures, and standards for operational use.
Ideal Background
- 3 7 years of experience in infrastructure engineering, with a focus on on-prem Kubernetes
- Solid understanding of Kubernetes architecture, deployment, and operations in an on-prem setting.
- Proficiency with scripting languages (e.g., Bash, PowerShell, or Python).
- Experience with monitoring tools (Prometheus, Grafana, etc.) and logging systems.
- Familiarity with infrastructure automation tools (Ansible, Terraform, etc.) a plus

- Any VMWare background (vSphere, vCenter, ESXi)
