RESPONSIBILITIES:
Kforce's client is seeking a Senior Oracle/SQL Database Administrator (DBA) for a 12-month contract-to-hire (CTH) opportunity. This fully onsite role (Monday-Friday, with potential for 4-day onsite after initial months) is based in Dallas, TX.
Summary:
This person will serve as the sole DBA on the team, responsible for maintaining and optimizing mission-critical databases, primarily Oracle (v19) and some SQL Server (2019, upgrading to 2022). This role includes on-call support for emergency issues and monthly after-hours release cycles. This position is 80% DBA work and 20% project coordination, working closely with a dedicated PM and development manager. The DBA will be expected to operate independently, identify opportunities, solve problems, and maintain a high level of caution and attention to detail.
REQUIREMENTS:
* 5+ years of experience supporting Oracle databases on Linux and Windows
* 5+ years of experience with Exadata, RMAN, OEM, and Shell scripting
* 2+ years of experience supporting SQL Server databases
* Proven project coordination or management experience
Technical Skills:
* Expert-level proficiency in Oracle Data Guard
* Strong RMAN experience
* Oracle PL/SQL scripting
* SQL profiling and index tuning
* Backup and disaster recovery strategies
Soft Skills:
* Highly detail-oriented and cautious
* Flexible and collaborative team player
* Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
* Excellent communication and documentation skills
Other Requirements:
* Must be available for on-call emergencies and scheduled after-hours releases
* Must be able to work independently as the sole DBA
* Visa sponsorship is not available for this position
The pay range is the lowest to highest compensation we reasonably in good faith believe we would pay at posting for this role. We may ultimately pay more or less than this range. Employee pay is based on factors like relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, location, performance, union contract and business needs. This range may be modified in the future.

Hourly employees are not eligible for paid time off unless required by law. Hourly employees on a Service Contract Act project are eligible for paid sick leave.
