Title: L2/L3 Support Engineer (Google Cloud Platform, Teradata)

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled L2/L3 Support Engineer with strong expertise in Teradata, Google Cloud Platform (Google Cloud Platform), ETL pipelines, and Data Warehousing technologies. The ideal candidate will provide advanced operational support for data platforms, troubleshoot complex production issues, optimize performance, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure data workflow stability and reliability.


Responsibilities

  • Provide L2/L3 support for critical data warehouse and ETL production environments.
  • Resolve incidents, perform root cause analysis (RCA), and implement permanent fixes.
  • Monitor system integrity, data loads, workflows, and performance across Teradata and Google Cloud Platform environments.
  • Manage job failures, workflow monitoring, and ticket resolution within SLAs.
  • Develop automation for recurring support tasks using scripting (e.g., Python, Shell).
  • Support deployment, configuration, and continuous improvements in data pipelines.
  • Work closely with development, DevOps, and business teams for proactive issue mitigation.
  • Maintain documentation for troubleshooting and production support knowledge base.
  • Participate in on-call rotations and provide after-hours support as required.
  • Performance tuning of SQL queries and ETL workflows.
  • Manage database objects, user roles, and data distribution strategies in Teradata.

Required Skills & Experience

  • Strong hands-on experience with Teradata (SQL, utilities, query optimization).
  • Experience in ETL tools (Informatica / DataStage / Talend / Cloud Dataflow / Any ETL tools).
  • Working knowledge of Google Cloud Platform services such as:
    • BigQuery, Cloud Storage, Dataflow, Composer, Cloud Logging, Monitoring
  • Knowledge of incident and change management processes (ITIL).
  • Expertise in Unix/Linux commands and Shell scripting.
  • Strong debugging skills for data load failures and workflow issues.
  • Experience with job schedulers (Control-M, Airflow, Autosys, etc.).
  • Familiarity with version control (Git), CI/CD exposure preferred.
