Network Engineer (DOCSIS)
Englewood, CO (4 days a week onsite)
Contract opening
Responsibilities:
- Designing and implementing new network solutions and/or improving the efficiency of current networks
- Installing, configuring and supporting network equipment including routers, proxy servers, switches, WAN accelerators, DNS and DHCP
- Procuring network equipment and managing subcontractors involved with network installation
- Configuring firewalls, routing and switching to maximize network efficiency and security
- Maximizing network performance through ongoing monitoring and troubleshooting
- Arranging scheduled upgrades and investigating faults in the network
- Updating network equipment to the latest firmware releases
- Reporting network status to key stakeholders
- Perform other duties, as needed
Qualifications:
- 3+ years of hands-on network engineering experience
- Associate's and/or Bachelor's Degree
- Thorough understanding of DOCSIS and provisioning, including TR-143
- Solid problem solving and time management skills
- Great interpersonal skills
- Excellent communication skills (written and verbal)
- Strong attention to detail
- Highly organized
Desired Skills:
- Experience in CPE Testing
- Experience with a cable Multiple System Operator (MSO) or Internet Service Provider (ISP)
- Experience with IP routing, IP multicast, streaming video, wireless, Voice over IP (VoIP), and/or home networking
- Experience with automation, databases, scripting, and system administration
