Job Description

Our client is seeking a dedicated IT Consultant I specializing in Desktop Support and Consulting to join their dynamic team. This role is crucial for ensuring the performance and reliability of workstation systems to meet customer expectations. The ideal candidate will be responsible for repairing equipment and providing expert consulting services, primarily on-site.

Responsibilities

• Service laptops and other electronic equipment both at the on-site service location and at client sites.
• Maintain workstation systems to ensure they meet performance standards and customer expectations for reliability and stability.
• Provide timely updates, status, and completion information to management and/or users regarding ongoing issues or projects.
• Achieve individual productivity goals as set by management.
• Develop a thorough understanding of product applications and client requirements to enhance service delivery.
• Demonstrate exceptional customer service skills consistently.
• Manage and account for company assets with integrity and accuracy.
• Ensure regular attendance and punctuality.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required; a Bachelor’s degree or technical school certification in digital electronics is preferred.
• Proven experience in computer systems, including proficiency with Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Outlook).
• Strong detail orientation with the ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills.
• Willingness to learn new equipment and technology related to desktop support.
• Ability to lift up to 40 pounds and perform physical activities such as stooping, kneeling, and bending.
• Experience working with hand tools and electronic equipment in a shop/repair center environment.
• Availability to travel domestically and work additional hours as needed.
• Dependable and reliable with a track record of excellent job attendance.
• Must be able to work on-site as required by the role’s demands.

Environmental Factors and Working Conditions:

The physical environment of this position varies due to cliental location. The position typically requires significant visual effort and involves assignments requiring significant levels of concentration. This position requires lifting weights up to 40 pounds, frequent stooping, kneeling, and bending, use of hand tools, and working with and around electrical equipment up to 70 % of the time each week. Domestic travel is required more than 40 hours per week. This position requires accurate accounting for time and materials. This position is designated as safety-sensitive per the Alcohol and Drug Free policy.
