The Role
Drive supplier performance, cost savings, and quality for critical manufacturing parts in a hands-on, onsite role supporting world-class heavy equipment production.
Key Responsibilities
Strategic Sourcing:
Lead end-to-end procurement for casting (sand, die, investment) and machining (CNC, turning, milling) components.
Negotiate contracts, manage RFQs, and optimize TCO (Total Cost of Ownership).
Supplier Performance Management:
Monitor KPIs (quality, delivery, cost) and implement corrective actions with suppliers.
Conduct onsite supplier audits to ensure compliance with Cat standards.
Technical Collaboration:
Partner with Engineering to review drawings, specs, and manufacturability of parts.
Resolve supply chain disruptions through root-cause analysis (e.g., material defects, delays).
Cost & Risk Mitigation:
Identify cost-reduction opportunities via VA/VE (Value Analysis/Value Engineering).
Mitigate supply chain risks through dual-sourcing and inventory strategies.
Experience:
3+ years in procurement/sourcing for castings or machined components.
Proven skill in supplier development/performance management.
Familiarity with foundry/machining processes (e.g., GD&T, metallurgy, tooling).
Technical Skills:
Proficiency in ERP systems (e.g., SAP), MS Excel (pivot tables, cost models), and PPAP/APQP.
Knowledge of quality standards (ISO 9001, IATF 16949).
Soft Skills:
Strong negotiation, problem-solving, and cross-functional collaboration abilities.
Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, onsite manufacturing environment.
