Job Overview:
In this contingent resource assignment, you will consult on or participate in moderately complex initiatives and deliverables within Systems Operations Engineering. You will contribute to large-scale planning related to Systems Operations Engineering deliverables, review and analyze challenges requiring in-depth evaluation, and collaborate with client personnel to meet deliverables while adhering to policies, procedures, and compliance requirements.

Responsibilities:
  • Manage and maintain Oracle databases.
  • Design and implement high-availability and disaster recovery solutions using Oracle RAC, Data Guard, and GoldenGate.
  • Perform database performance tuning, query optimization, and capacity planning.
  • Lead root cause analysis (RCA) for database-related incidents and implement long-term solutions.
  • Automate database maintenance tasks using PL/SQL, Shell scripting, and Ansible.
  • Ensure database security, compliance, and audit readiness (SOX, PCI, HIPAA).
  • Collaborate with application development, infrastructure, and security teams to support business initiatives.
  • Manage backup and recovery strategies using RMAN and enterprise backup tools.
  • Monitor database health using tools like Oracle Enterprise Manager (OEM), Prometheus, or custom dashboards.
  • Maintain detailed documentation for database configurations, procedures, and recovery plans.

Qualifications:
  • 7+ years of Oracle Database Engineering experience, or equivalent demonstrated through work experience, training, military experience, or education.
  • Expertise in Oracle RAC, ASM, Data Guard, and GoldenGate.
  • Strong proficiency in SQL, PL/SQL, and performance tuning techniques.
  • Experience with Linux/Unix environments and Shell scripting.
  • Familiarity with automation tools such as Ansible, Terraform, or Jenkins.
  • Knowledge of SAN/NAS storage integration and backup/recovery strategies.
  • Experience with monitoring tools like Oracle Enterprise Manager, Prometheus, or similar.
  • Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills.
  • Excellent communication and documentation abilities.
  • Proven leadership in incident management and change control processes.
