What you will do

Johnson Controls has an exciting opportunity in our Fishers, IN, location for a Senior Software Engineer. Get ready to be part of the team responsible for developing the next generation front-end mobile clients responsible for interacting with cutting edge security cameras and security device technologies. This includes analytics like facial recognition, object detection, and boundary detection, and newer technology stacks like Flutter and Dart. You'll collaborate with Product Management, UI/UX designers, and other software and QA engineers using the agile methods to develop apps across Android and iOS. If you're looking to gain more experience with modern technologies built with a next-gen tech stack, keep reading! This position is based onsite in Fishers, IN. Candidates should be commuting distance to the facility, or open to relocation.

How will you do it
  • Enhance and maintain the product on a continuous release cycle
  • Assist the support team with reproducing and resolving customer issues
  • Participate in design and architecture decisions
  • Improve the product and reduce technical debt
  • Prove to be a strong technical resource using the best software development practices
  • Work closely with the team, UI/UX designers, and product management in an Agile environment

What we look for

Required
  • BS Degree in Software Engineering, Computer Science or a related field
  • 5+ years experience in software development and developing front-end applications
  • Experience with gRPC, WebRTC and/or REST API's
  • Demonstrated ability with git
  • Able to work in the Fishers, IN at least 3 days a week

Preferred
  • Experience with Dart and Flutter
  • Strong understanding of streaming video and video file formats
  • Experience developing mobile applications
  • Experience working in both windows and mac environment
  • Usage of AI to accelerate in the development process
