Network Engineer

Long-term contract/ 4 years
Place of work: Bethesda, MD- Hybrid role- 3-days onsite- Prefer local candidates from DMV areas
Client: Federal ( Healthcare)

Job Description

Provides network engineering support for OT/ICS networks, including FACnet infrastructure, network architecture design, and coordination with IT organizations. Responsible for network troubleshooting, security implementation, and integration support.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and maintain OT network architectures
  • Implement network security controls and segmentation
  • Troubleshoot network connectivity and performance issues
  • Support network infrastructure changes and upgrades
  • Maintain network documentation and diagrams
  • Assist in network discovery tool implementation and reporting
  • Provide technical guidance on network-related matters

Required Qualifications

Education: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Network Engineering, or related field.

Experience:

  • Minimum 7 years of network engineering experience
  • 4+ years with OT/industrial networks and protocols
  • Experience with VLAN segmentation and network security
  • Knowledge of Cisco, HP, or similar enterprise networking equipment
  • Understanding of federal network security requirements

Certifications:

  • Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP) or equivalent
  • CompTIA Security+ or equivalent security certification
  • SANS industrial network security certifications are preferred

Skills:

  • Expert knowledge of TCP/IP, VLANs, and network protocols
  • Experience with OT network security and segmentation
  • Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills
  • Knowledge of network monitoring and management tools
  • Understanding of industrial communication protocols

Security Requirements

  • Ability to obtain and maintain a PIV card
  • Background investigation suitable for federal facility access
