Please note that we are currently recruiting for six positions: Level I(2), Level II(2), and Level III(2).

Position Overview:

We are seeking a detail-oriented GIS Specialist to support the planning, design, implementation, and management of enterprise asset data within GIS and related asset information systems. The ideal candidate will work closely with internal teams to ensure accurate workflows, deliver timely solutions, and serve as a trusted resource for operational GIS needs. This position may be filled at the GIS Specialist I, II, or III level depending on experience, skills, and certifications.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage and oversee the preparation, conversion, and integration of data into GIS from various formats.
  • Analyze business processes and recommend best practices for data management and workflow optimization.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to document and implement system enhancements and process improvements.
  • Maintain data integrity through regular audits, QA/QC checks, and geodatabase maintenance.
  • Develop and maintain procedural documentation, training materials, and project reports.
  • Lead or support multiple projects simultaneously, including scoping, scheduling, quality control, and reporting.
  • Support publishing, versioning, and multiuser workflows within enterprise GIS platforms.
  • Provide maps, data analysis, and reports to meet operational and project requirements.
  • Drive continuous improvement in GIS tools, data models, and workflow automation.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor s degree in Geography, GIS, Geosciences, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field or equivalent work experience.
  • 3 5 years of professional experience with GIS platforms and tools.
  • Strong understanding of geodatabases, georeferencing, data entry/editing, and spatial analysis.
  • Proficiency with Esri ArcGIS Online, ArcGIS Enterprise, ArcMap, ArcPro, versioning, and geoprocessing techniques.
  • Solid project management experience including planning, coordination, tracking, and delivery of multiple initiatives.
  • Excellent communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to meet deadlines and support multiple teams with high-quality GIS deliverables.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • GISP Certification.
  • Experience with utility or infrastructure GIS data (e.g., natural gas, electric, or water).
  • Experience with Esri Data Reviewer and Workflow Manager extensions.
  • Familiarity with CAD-to-GIS data conversion.
  • Knowledge of content/document management systems and enterprise data publishing.
  • Experience designing and managing Esri geodatabases.
  • Experience with mobile data collection platforms and field GIS solutions.

Technical Skills

Required:

  • Esri ArcGIS Enterprise (ArcGIS Server, ArcGIS Online, Portal for ArcGIS) intermediate proficiency.
  • Esri ArcMap 10.x and ArcGIS Pro 2.x intermediate proficiency.
  • ModelBuilder, SQL RDBMS, AutoCAD/CADD working knowledge.
  • Microsoft Office Suite (Access, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Visio).
  • Knowledge of PMBOK principles.
  • Familiarity with Utility Pipeline Data Model (UPDM), Utility Network (UN), and Geometric Network.

Preferred:

  • PMP Certification.
  • Advanced Esri ArcGIS and ArcPro skills.
  • Experience with Power BI, Python, Arcade, Visual Basic/VBA, and system integration projects.
  • Familiarity with FME, Data Interoperability tools, Schneider Electric ArcFM, and Laserfiche.

Working Conditions:

  • Primarily office-based with a hybrid schedule (4 days on-site / 1 day remote).
  • Minimal travel may be required (approximately 5%).
  • Standard business hours with occasional flexibility depending on project needs.

Rate: $28-$48/hour (depends on experience level). This is a contract position with candidates expected to work 40 hours/ week.
