Job Details

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform software installation and maintenance using SMP/E, including analyzing PTFs, HOLDDATA, HIPER, FIXCAT, and PE.
  • Maintain software currency through semi-annual migrations across dev, QA, and prod CICS/IMS regions.
  • Configure and optimize CICS/IMS parameters for stability, performance, and incident resolution.
  • Troubleshoot and work with IBM/ISV providers for complex issue resolution and support.
  • Understand business processes and align mainframe region configurations to support application and business continuity.
  • Build and configure new CICS and IMS regions, define started tasks, and migrate transaction definitions.
  • Follow change management procedures using tools like ServiceNow, respecting lead times and change windows.
  • Collaborate with development teams on new feature exploitation, POCs, and security best practices.
  • Participate in IBM/ISV product roadmap and incident review meetings.

Required Skills:

  • Strong experience in SMP/E, software maintenance, and managing z/OS environments.
  • Deep knowledge of CICS and IMS internals, configuration, and tuning.
  • Proficiency in managing mainframe change processes, task scheduling, and incident triage.
  • Familiarity with Travelers' business context or similar large-scale insurance/financial environments.
  • Experience working with IBM and Independent Software Vendors (ISVs).
  • Good understanding of mainframe security practices, region isolation, and high availability.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with ServiceNow or equivalent change/ticketing systems.
  • Exposure to mainframe modernization efforts or integration with distributed systems.
