Senior Network Engineer/Firewall/Cisco

Join a rapidly growing local healthcare company as a key member of their Network Security team! This company is currently seeking a talented Network Engineer with a strong background in both core networking and network security, particularly within the realm of firewall technologies. As a Lead Engineer, you will spearhead a major implementation and upgrade project involving Firewalls, while also contributing to various other network initiatives.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead a large-scale implementation and upgrade project for Checkpoint Firewalls.
• Configure routers and switches, set up VLANs, and establish site-to-site VPNs as part of daily operations.
• Utilize your expertise in Cisco routing and switching to optimize network performance.
• Collaborate with a diverse team of 15 Network and Security Engineers on various projects, fostering cross-pollination of ideas and skills.
• Continuously evolve your skills and knowledge to adapt to emerging technologies and evolving security threats.

Required Skills & Experience:

• Minimum of 5 years of experience as a Network Engineer.
• Proficiency in firewall technologies, with specific experience in Checkpoint Firewalls.
• Strong knowledge of Cisco routing and switching.
• Experience in VLAN configuration and site-to-site VPN setup.
• Familiarity with network subnetting principles.
• Understanding of Cisco ISE (Identity Services Engine).

Desired Skills & Experience:

• Knowledge of Zero Trust architecture.
• Industry certifications such as CCNA, CCNP, CCIE, or CISSP.

What You Will Be Doing:

• Tech Breakdown: 50% Network Engineering, 50% Network Security.
• Daily Responsibilities:
  • 60% Project-based work, focusing on the Checkpoint Firewall implementation and other initiatives.
  • 40% Day-to-day engineering tasks, including router and switch configurations and VPN setups.
