Job Title: Subject Matter Expert (SME) Leadership & Communication for Managerial Success (LCMS) Course

Location: Remote (Virtual Delivery via ZOOMGOV)

Period of Performance: May 12, 2025 June 20, 2025

Client: Center for Executive Education (CEE), Naval Postgraduate School (NPS)

Position Overview:

CEE at NPS seeks a highly qualified SME to develop and deliver four (4) interactive course modules for the Leadership and Communication for Managerial Success (LCMS) course, scheduled for virtual delivery from June 3 5, 2025. The course supports mid- to senior-level DoD and Navy managers in enhancing leadership and communication capabilities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with TPOC to align course materials with student demographics and course goals.
  • Design, develop, and deliver content for four (4) modules:
  • Emotional Intelligence
  • Motivating People
  • Learning and Feedback
  • Managing Conflict and Difficult Conversations
  • Prepare and submit all materials (slides, handouts, exercises, references) 10 days prior to course start.
  • Deliver four 2-hour modules virtually; engage participants with case-based and experiential learning.
  • Incorporate current best practices and research in leadership, communication, and conflict management.
  • Revise content as needed based on government feedback.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Ph.D. in Psychology, Philosophy (Applied Ethics), or Leadership Studies.
  • EQ-i 2.0 Certification (Emotional Intelligence assessment).
  • Minimum 3 years recent experience in DoD/Navy executive education.
  • Expertise in leadership, ethics, communication, and interpersonal dynamics.
  • Skilled in case-based facilitation and sensitive assessment debriefing.
  • Familiarity with the U.S. military and organizational dynamics of large institutions.

Other Details:

  • Government-provided virtual platforms will be used (e.g., ZOOMGOV).
  • Course materials must be submitted in Microsoft Office formats.
  • All content will be delivered remotely; no travel required.
