Job Title: Red Team Security Analyst

Location: Atlanta, GA or Birmingham, AL (Will be hybrid next year)
Employment Type: Contract, Potential Contract to Hire (40 hours)
Department: Cybersecurity / Offensive Security

Compensation: $50-60/hr W2 only

About the Role

We are seeking a highly tenacious Red Team Security Analyst with strong threat-hunting instincts and deep offensive security expertise. In this role, you will proactively identify, exploit, and validate vulnerabilities across our environments, simulate real-world adversaries, and provide clear, actionable recommendations to improve our security posture. You will work cross-functionally with security, engineering, and leadership teams to prioritize remediation efforts and strengthen our defenses.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct full-spectrum red team operations, including reconnaissance, exploitation, lateral movement, privilege escalation, and data exfiltration simulations.
  • Perform advanced threat hunting to detect sophisticated attacker behaviors, identify weaknesses, and uncover hidden risks across systems, networks, and applications.
  • Exploit validated vulnerabilities to demonstrate realistic business impact and support risk-based prioritization.
  • Develop and execute custom attack scenarios aligned with current threat intelligence and emerging TTPs.
  • Produce clear, detailed reports and present findings to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Recommend prioritized remediation steps based on exploitability, impact, and threat likelihood.
  • Collaborate with blue team and engineering groups to validate fixes, refine detection capabilities, and support purple-team exercises.
  • Continuously research new vulnerabilities, offensive tools, and adversary tradecraft to maintain cutting-edge skills.
  • Help mature red teaming methodologies, tooling, processes, and documentation.

Qualifications

Required:

  • 3 7 years of experience in red teaming, penetration testing, threat hunting, or offensive security.
  • Strong hands-on experience with exploitation techniques, post-exploitation frameworks, and manual testing methodologies.
  • Proficiency with tools such as Cobalt Strike, Metasploit, Burp Suite, Kali Linux, BloodHound, etc.
  • Solid understanding of MITRE ATT&CK, adversary emulation, and cyber kill chain concepts.
  • Familiarity with Windows, Linux, and cloud environments (AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform).
  • Experience analyzing logs and telemetry to support threat hunting or detection engineering.
  • Ability to communicate complex security findings clearly and concisely.
  • Demonstrated tenacity, curiosity, and a break things to make them better mindset.

Preferred:

  • Offensive certifications (e.g., OSCP, OSCE, OSEP, CRTO, CEH, GPEN).
  • Experience scripting in Python, PowerShell, or Bash.
  • Background working in enterprise-scale environments.
  • Knowledge of EDR evasion techniques and custom payload development.
