RESPONSIBILITIES:
Kforce has a client that is seeking a Data Center Operations Tech in Sterling, VA.
Duties:
* Data Center Operations Tech will provide support to end users on a variety of issues
* Identifies, researches, and resolves technical problems
* Responds to telephone calls, email and personnel requests for technical support
* Documents, tracks and monitors the problem to ensure a timely resolution
* Relies on instructions and pre-established guidelines to perform the functions of the job
* Works under immediate supervision
* Primary job functions do not typically require exercising independent judgment
* Typically reports to a supervisor or manager
REQUIREMENTS:
* Associate degree or High School diploma/GED, CompTIA A+ or Network+
* 0-3 years of experience in the field or in a related area
* Experience with hardware troubleshooting, hardware replacements, server or pc troubleshooting
* Has knowledge of commonly used concepts, practices, and procedures within a particular field
* Knowledge of PC hardware components, their functions, and experience diagnosing individual hardware components and replacing them
* Network Knowledge: Understanding networking fundamentals is critical as technicians work with Top of Rack (TOR) switches, network equipment, and must respond to network-related emergencies like rackdowns (when hosts lose network connectivity); Experience with networking or Linux operating systems is great
* Safety & Compliance Procedures: Data center technicians must work with power tools, handle components with sharp edges, and operate in environments that require proper Personal Protective Equipment (PPE); Understanding and following safety protocols, media handling procedures (for customer data), and emergency response procedures is a fundamental requirement
* Hardware Troubleshooting & Repair: Ability to diagnose problems and replace components like motherboards, CPU's, PSU's, NIC's, test fiber optic cables, and perform systematic isolation testing to determine points of failure

The pay range is the lowest to highest compensation we reasonably in good faith believe we would pay at posting for this role. We may ultimately pay more or less than this range. Employee pay is based on factors like relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, location, performance, union contract and business needs. This range may be modified in the future.
We offer comprehensive benefits including medical/dental/vision insurance, HSA, FSA, 401(k), and life, disability & ADD insurance to eligible employees. Salaried personnel receive paid time off. Hourly employees are not eligible for paid time off unless required by law. Hourly employees on a Service Contract Act project are eligible for paid sick leave.
Note: Pay is not considered compensation until it is earned, vested and determinable. The amount and availability of any compensation remains in Kforce's sole discretion unless and until paid and may be modified in its discretion consistent with the law.
