Job Description:

Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced Data Analyst to support our Data & Analytics products within *** Asset Management. The candidate will focus on analyzing data related to a broad range of asset classes and on helping build out data solutions using new sources of data.


Key Responsibilities

Data Analysis and Management
Analyze and interpret complex data sets related to asset management.
Develop and maintain data mapping and validation documents.
Collaborate with stakeholders to gather requirements and define data analysis needs.
Provide insights and subject matter expertise based on data analysis.
Ensure data quality and integrity.

Domain Expertise
Provide thought leadership in the financial services data space, focusing on a broad range of asset classes.
Collaborate with team members to design and implement data solutions to support business goals and outcomes.
Help with writing user stories and acceptance criteria
Develop and execute testing strategies and plans.

Qualifications
7+ years of experience as a Data Analyst in asset management required.
Experience with distribution data.

Strong understanding of data across various asset classes.
Hands on SQL skills and a good understanding of data pipelines & transformations

Familiarity with data tools such as Aladdin, Bloomberg, FactSet, or similar systems.
Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
Experience in an agile development environment.

Business Context

  • The role sits within business (product organization), not technology.
  • Each product has its own dedicated scrum team (10 12 people: product owner, data analyst, engineers, testers, scrum master).
  • The data analyst represents domain and data management expertise on the team.
  • Product goal: build a 360 client portfolio view-aggregating data from multiple systems (assets, performance, flows, revenue, sales, servicing).

Role Overview

  • Hands-on, individual contributor role (not managerial).
  • Works closely with data engineers, product owners, and business stakeholders.
  • Responsibilities include:
  • Source data analysis and mapping.
  • Data flow and validation.
  • Understanding internal/external data models and schemas.
  • Participating in business requirement sessions.
  • Using SQL for data profiling and validation.
  • Leveraging tools like Power BI and Collibra.

Experience Requirements

  • Asset management data experience is mandatory (not transferable from banking or wealth management).
  • Should understand:
  • Investment, performance, accounting, and distribution data.
  • Investment book of record (IBOR), accounting book of record (ABOR), performance book of record (PBOR).
  • Third-party data providers like Bloomberg, FactSet, or UBS.
  • 7 10 years of U.S. experience.
  • Aladin/factset/Bloomberg or similar 3rd party data tools
  • Must be detail-oriented and strong in data management fundamentals. New hire.
