Job Description:
The Senior Accountant will report to the Senior Accounting Manager, based in the San Mateo, California. This role involves ensuring project facilitation, revenue and cost accounting, compliance with regulations and working collaboratively with the global Finance Team.
Key Responsibilities:
- B2C Commerce Accounting:
- Manage and optimize accounting processes for both physical and digital content transactions.
- Ensure end to end proper accounting and reporting of commerce transactions.
- Support revenue recognition, deferral, and cost of sales accounting efforts.
- Perform financial close activity
- Develop and maintain robust accounting policies and procedures.
- Tax Compliance and Audit:
- Support sales and use tax compliance, reconciliation and reporting.
- facilitate tax regulations, system integration and ensure full compliance.
- Ensure adherence to company policies and regulatory requirements.
- Project Management:
- Drive accounting projects within large corporate environments.
- Conduct User Acceptance Testing (UAT) and system integration.
- Successfully manage project timelines and deliverables.
- Collaborate effectively with a global team, ensuring seamless communication and teamwork.
- Proactively identify and solve problems, providing innovative solutions.
- Professionalism and Adaptability:
- Utilize critical thinking skills to analyze complex accounting issues.
- Provide strategic insights and recommendations.
- Maintain a high level of professionalism in all interactions.
- Adapt to both remote and in-office working environments.
Preferred Skills:
- SAP ERP: Experience with SAP ERP systems for efficient accounting and financial management.
- Copilot: Familiarity with Copilot tools to enhance productivity and streamline accounting processes.
- Microsoft Office: Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) for effective data analysis and reporting.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
- CPA or equivalent certification preferred.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in accounting, with a focus on B2C commerce.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
- Ability to think strategically and implement creative solutions
- Highly motivated self-starter with a drive for excellence.
- Ability to work well in a global team and adapt to various working environments.
- High attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
