Detailed Job Description:
We are seeking a highly experienced PeopleSoft HCM Developer with a deep technical background in designing and implementing complex customizations and integrations across the PeopleSoft Human Capital Management (HCM) suite. The ideal candidate will possess strong hands-on experience with PeopleTools, HCM modules like Payroll, Benefits, and Time & Labor, and demonstrate leadership in the development lifecycle, system upgrades, and cross-functional collaboration.
Job Responsibilities:
- Design, Develop, Customize: Architect and implement advanced solutions across PeopleSoft HCM modules (Payroll, Benefits, Time & Labor), integrating with Financials or Campus Solutions.
- Technical Leadership: Provide development guidance, enforce standards, and act as SME on PeopleSoft technologies.
- Integrations: Build/maintain integrations using REST/SOAP web services, Integration Broker, XML, Component Interfaces, and file-based methods.
- Support & Troubleshooting: Lead Tier 3 support, resolve complex technical/system issues, optimize performance.
- Lifecycle Ownership: Participate in or lead full SDLC activities (analysis, design, development, testing, deployment, documentation).
- Team Collaboration: Work with analysts, business users, and cross-functional teams to define and deliver technical solutions.
- Compliance & Security: Manage user permissions, implement secure coding practices, and ensure regulatory compliance (e.g., HIPAA, FISMA).
- System Maintenance: Lead system upgrades, patches, and new feature implementations while ensuring minimal disruption.
- Documentation & Governance: Maintain technical documentation, support change control, and enforce development standards.
- Mentorship: Provide guidance to junior developers and conduct technical code reviews.
Must have skills:
- 5 10+ years of hands-on PeopleSoft HCM development experience.
- Strong command of PeopleTools (PeopleCode, App Engine, App Designer, Component Interfaces, Integration Broker).
- Proficiency in SQR, PS Query, BI/XML Publisher, and SQL.
- Experience with Oracle databases, UNIX/Linux, and shell scripting.
- Expertise in building complex integrations with third-party systems.
- Excellent troubleshooting, debugging, and performance optimization skills.
- Demonstrated ability to work independently in fast-paced environments.
- Experience in Agile/Scrum development environments.
Nice-to-Have skills:
- Experience with PeopleSoft HCM 9.2 and PeopleTools 8.55+.
- Experience with large-scale HR/payroll implementations (preferably public sector).
- Oracle/PeopleSoft certifications.
- Knowledge of Finance module integration.
- Experience developing complex reports, data conversions, and migration tools.
- Familiarity with security configuration and audit compliance.
- Leadership or mentorship experience on technical teams.
