Print Operations/ Maintenance Tech

Currently we are searching for a PRINT OPERATIONS/ MAINTENANCE TECH to fulfill an immediate full-time vacancy.

****MUST LIVE IN BIRMINGHAM, AL AND BE OPEN TO A 3:45PM - 12AM MIDNIGHT SHIFT MONDAYS THROUGH SATURDAYS TO APPLY****

This position is a Full-Time, Contract-to-Hire role that sits onsite in Birmingham, AL.

Day-to-Day Responsibilities:

• Working 3:45pm-12am daily. Remain flexible to shift changes (currently 2nd shift, but rotations may require availability across 1st, 2nd, or 3rd shifts) and working Saturdays.
• Operate and monitor ID card printing machines and high-volume print processes (invoices, checks, reports, and wallet cards).
• Manage multiple commercial printers, selecting and loading correct paper stock and monitoring output for accuracy.
• Execute print runs totaling up to 300,000 pages across 70 100 different jobs.
• Perform light mechanical tasks such as loading rolls of paper, tightening screws, or troubleshooting minor equipment issues to keep production running.
• Move completed card batches to the mailroom for further processing (includes lifting up to 50 lbs).
• Stand for extended periods while maintaining focus on production tasks.
• Follow strict data security and compliance standards (including HIPAA) when handling confidential information.
• Collaborate with team members in a production-based, deadline-driven environment, assisting during training and peak periods.

Position Requirements:

• Prior experience in operations, print services, production, warehouse, or a related environment preferred.
• Mechanically inclined with the ability to troubleshoot, maintain, and operate production equipment.
• Comfortable in a production/operations role (not a programming or IT-focused role).
• Dependable and punctual with a strong sense of commitment to shift schedules.
• Ability to work onsite, stand for long periods, and lift up to 50 lbs as part of daily responsibilities.
• Team-oriented with the ability to prioritize tasks, meet deadlines, and adapt to changing work volumes.
• Open to long-term contract work with potential for conversion to permanent employment (may take several years).
