We are seeking a Business/Data Analyst with strong expertise in data modeling for Business Intelligence and Analytics, particularly in Snowflake, and hands-on experience in the financial services domain, specifically fund accounting and portfolio accounting. The ideal candidate will act as a bridge between business stakeholders, data engineering, and BI/reporting teams to build scalable, analytics-ready data models that support fund-level and portfolio-level insights.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Gather and document business requirements related to fund and portfolio performance, NAV calculations, client reporting, and regulatory needs.
  • Design conceptual, logical, and physical data models that support analytical workloads in Snowflake.
  • Build data models that align with fund/portfolio accounting structures such as securities, transactions, positions, valuations, fees, and reconciliations.
  • Collaborate with data engineers and BI developers to implement star/snowflake schemas optimized for financial reporting and KPI dashboards.
  • Define data mappings from source systems (e.g., Geneva, Eagle, or other accounting platforms) to Snowflake.
  • Maintain data dictionaries, transformation logic, and business glossaries for financial metrics and entities.
  • Ensure compatibility with BI tools like Power BI, Tableau, or Looker for downstream reporting.
  • Analyze and validate data quality, lineage, and performance in financial reporting pipelines.

Skills Required:

  • 5+ years of experience in business/data analysis, preferably in financial services or asset management.
  • Strong understanding of fund accounting, portfolio accounting, or investment performance analytics.
  • 2+ years of experience with Snowflake or similar cloud-based data warehouses.
  • Deep understanding of dimensional modeling, including star and snowflake schemas.
  • Proficient in SQL and capable of working with large datasets and complex joins.
  • Familiarity with BI/reporting tools (Power BI, Tableau, Looker).
  • Experience working with accounting platforms such as Geneva, Investran, or similar systems.
