Job Description:

The Epic Certified Systems Admin (ECSA) is responsible for installation, configuration, upgrades, support, monitoring, and maintenance for Epic Client Systems infrastructure on virtual windows servers. This is a full time, hybrid office/remote position.

Epic ECSA Description

This role focuses on designing, implementing, and maintaining secure cloud architectures specifically for Epic systems in the healthcare industry. 6-9 years of experience.

Key Responsibilities:

An Epic ECSA is responsible for various tasks including:

  • Cloud Architecture: Designing and implementing secure cloud architectures for Epic applications and leading migrations to platforms like AWS, Azure, and Google Cloud Platform, while ensuring alignment with Epic's technical needs. This also involves consulting on transitions to cloud-based Epic systems.
  • Infrastructure Management: Overseeing cloud infrastructure for high availability, disaster recovery, and performance, using cloud-native technologies and managing services like load balancing and VDI solutions. Ongoing monitoring and optimization for cost and performance are also key.
  • Security & Compliance: Implementing cloud security measures to protect patient data and ensure compliance with healthcare regulations like HIPAA. Regular risk assessments are also part of this.
  • Collaboration: Leading and mentoring teams, collaborating with other teams to integrate Epic with other healthcare applications, and creating technical documentation.
  • Innovation: Staying updated on industry trends and leveraging cloud capabilities to improve workflows and optimize infrastructure for healthcare clients.
  • Assist with managing the Citrix and VMware environments as needed.
  • Works with user community (including departments and project teams) in analysing, documenting, identifying, designing and providing technical solutions.
  • Monitor, maintain, and support existing computer systems and infrastructure to help maximize uptime and availability.
  • Analyse, define, and evaluate product system problems and implements necessary solutions.
  • Research, test, and document all system changes, updates and enhancements to ensure system integrity and stability.
  • Work closely with business operations and application analysts to implement new EMR features.
  • Understand MyChart, MyChart Mobile, EpicCare Link, Care Everywhere, Hyperspace Web, Interconnect, Kuiper, System Pulse, Hyperspace applications from an administrator level.
  • Handle all the daily operations of the Epic Client Systems components.
  • Lead Product Release management functions which may include develop & perform test plans, facilitate end user testing, and develop application validation scripts for ongoing operations team.
  • Lead/assist in any troubleshooting activities
  • Act as subject matter expert for new projects

Required Skills and Experience:

To be considered for this role, you generally need:

  • Epic ECSA/ECSM Certification.
  • A strong understanding of Epic systems.
  • Expertise in Microsoft Windows Server Administration.
  • Experience with virtualization technologies.
  • Knowledge of load balancing.
  • Experience with public cloud platforms like AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform.
  • Experience in Healthcare IT Operations.
  • Ability to create technical documentation.
